E-Commerce Website Design

The arrival of computer has advanced the developments in IT. Internet and commerce blend together to form e-commerce or electronic commerce, which extends the scope of commerce and widens its boundaries. One of the advantages of e-commerce is that we can make transactions throughout the day and throughout the year.

The members of the network include dealers, banks, distributors and consumers forms part of it, they are linked by computers. The members in the network can pass any information to other member in the network. The price of the products, exchange of tenders, placing order, confirmation of order and sending bills are some of the activities carried out through e-commerce. In short all the transactions of a firm can be fulfilled through this.

A dealer can send the order received by him to the company through the network and the company directs the warehouse to despatch the goods to the customer. A copy of the bill will be sent to the dealer. Excess manpower and time could be saved by this method, which is less expensive in nature. The unnecessary expenses on telephone, fax etc and the problem of middleman can be avoided through this.

While designing a website that gives importance to e-commerce, there should be adequate space allotted for the transaction purpose and the proper linking of that without any complication. The web page should have to be more users friendly. Classifying the visuals, text and the price tag of the product for the convenience of the browser will make the site a successful one.

More than the company description the details of the products are given importance in an e-commerce based website; this should be kept in mind while designing the site that catering the sole purpose of e-commerce.
